Generally, the ultimate product of the Master Plan – AIP – ACIP process is the design and construction of airport development projects. These projects are intended to enhance the safety and efficiency of the Airport. Variations of this process of planning, programming, design, and construction also apply to significant capital equipment purchases, land acquisition, studies, and master plans. The typical project cycle coincides with the Federal Fiscal Year (October 1st through September 30th). For development projects, the design, permitting, and advertisement for bidding will occur in one Fiscal Year and construction will occur in the next.
